Despite trailing by as many as four runs, North Allegheny Freshman Tigers rallied to defeat Penn-Trafford 16-7 on Friday.
Penn-Trafford got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Osborne grounded into a fielder's choice, Forsythe walked, O’Connor singled to the left side of the infield, and Savinda walked, each scoring one run.
North Allegheny Freshman Tigers flipped the game on its head in the top of the second, scoring six runs on three hits to take the lead, 6-4. The biggest blow in the inning was a fielder's choice by DeFrancesco that drove in two.
North Allegheny Freshman Tigers added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Bekic doubled to center field, and Earnest grounded out, each scoring one run.
Milligan led things off on the hill for North Allegheny Freshman Tigers. The right-handed pitcher surrendered two hits and four runs over two-thirds of an inning, striking out one and walking three. O’Connor began the game for Penn-Trafford.
The starting pitcher allowed three hits and six runs over one inning, striking out one and walking two. DeFrancesco and Krapp each appeared in relief for North Allegheny Freshman Tigers.
North Allegheny Freshman Tigers piled up 14 hits in the game. Bekic led North Allegheny Freshman Tigers with three runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup.
