2025 NORTH ALLEGHENY BASEBALL DIRECTOR POSITIONS

2024-2025 North Allegheny Baseball Boosters Committee Descriptions

 

All Committee Members are Elected for a One-Year Term but may continue on that Committee should they desire to do so.

All baseball families are asked to complete the Committee Volunteer Questionnaire To ensure a successful season, the Executive Board requests that each family sign up to lead or join one committee.

FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE

Chair: Karen Shearon
Committee Members: Christy Boehm, Jamie Lopez, Josette Gephart, Brooke Ebken, Colleen Swartz  (In need of several volunteers)

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Fundraising Efforts: Work with the Executive Board to set goals and plan fundraising strategies.

  • Guide Fundraising Events: Help plan, execute, and evaluate events. Focus on fundraisers where vendors collect the money and send a check to the boosters.

  • Work with the Executive Board: Provide updates on progress and align fundraising goals.

  • Promote Events: Use social media, email, and flyers to promote events and track performance.

WEBSITE SPONSORSHIP COMMITTEE

Chair: Paula Dworek
Committee Members: Jamie Lopez, Nicole Williamson (In need of several volunteers)

Responsibilities:

  • Update Sponsorship Packages: Coordinate with Coach Sabo and Board President to keep sponsorship materials up-to-date.

  • Communication:  Inform players and their families about sponsorship opportunities which include the booster dues refund program.

  • Identify Potential New Sponsors: Reach out to local businesses, organizations and individuals to see if interested in becoming a Sponsor.

  • Build and Maintain Relationships with Current Sponsors: Reach out to current Sponsors to request sponsorship renewal. 

  • Manage Sponsorship Agreements: Ensure sponsors receive the agreed benefits, send thank you notes, and provide logos to Coach Sabo.

  • Track and Report: Keep track of sponsorships and report to the Executive Board.

UNIFIED BOOSTERS ORGANIZATION (UBO) REPRESENTATIVE

Current Representative: Paula Dworek

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Liaison: Act as the link between the Baseball Boosters and the UBO.

  • Attend UBO Meetings: Represent the Baseball Boosters at 4 UBO meetings per year and provide a report that lists number of teams, players on each team, team records, annual dues, fundraisers held and banquet date at the Spring meeting. Email UBO meeting minutes to Boosters President.

  • Support UBO Fundraisers: Help promote and manage UBO events like the NA Community Day at Kennywood when schedule permits.

  • Assist with Toys for Tigers: Work with the Board to to determine how baseball boosters would like to participate.

PHOTOGRAPHY COMMITTEE

Chair: Julie Evanish

  • Coordinate Picture Day: Assist the photographer at Tigerfest to keep players and teams organized.

  • Picture Order Forms: Provide and distribute order forms to team parents.

  • Photo Distribution: Pick up photos from Madia Photography and coordinate delivery to team parents to distribute to players.

  • Posters and Banners: Hang posters in the NASH athletic hallway and senior banners at the field.

SEASON PICTURE COORDINATOR

Chair: Keana McMahon

  • Recruit Volunteers: Find a volunteer for each team to take and submit photos to the player's family and coach sabo (jsabo@northallegheny.org).

  • Varsity Team: Provide 10-15 photos to Coach Sabo (jsabo@northallegheny.org) and Jonathan Spina (jspina@northallegheny.org) for the Athletic Department website following each game.

TIGERFEST COMMITTEE

 

Chair: Angela Manczka
Committee Members: Karen Dratfinsky, Heather Fritz, Ellen Simons, Josette Gephart, Dana Vargo 

Responsibilities:

  • Set Up and Clean Up: Prepare the area before events and clean up afterward.

  • Guide Families: Assist families with information about activities and direct them to the registration table. For unanswered questions, refer them to Board members.

  • Yard Signs: Sell and distribute pre-ordered signs. The volunteer who coordinated this may be willing to manage this table.

  • Apparel Sales: Sell shirts, hats, blankets, umbrellas, and more. The volunteer who coordinated this may be willing to manage this table.

  • Gear Exchange/Donation: Determine if this will be held. If so, coordinate donation drop-off with a local non-profit.

  • Miscellaneous Tasks: Help with any other tasks as needed.

  • 50/50: Sell raffle tickets  

SENIOR RECOGNITION NIGHT COMMITTEE

Traditionally, this has been group of Junior Parents

Chair: Angela Manczka
Committee Members: 

Responsibilities:

  • Plan the Event: Work with the Coaching staff to select a game date for Senior Night. Send invitations, coordinate RSVPs, and purchase gifts.

  • Logistics: Set up an inflatable arch, organize post-game snacks, and order flowers for Senior parents.  Confirm photography arrangements with Madia Photography.

  • Program and Announcements: Review and update program form for Seniors to complete, give to Coach Sabo for distribution and provide script to announcers.

MIDDLE SCHOOL RECOGNITION NIGHT COMMITTEE

Chair: (In need of a volunteer)
Committee Members: Laura Tufts, Nicole Hunter, Chrissy Rosenberg

Responsibilities:

  • Plan Event:

    • Collaborate with Board and Coaching staff to choose a varsity game and a rain date to recognize middle school players

    • Contact AD for permission and free admission for players

    • Provide announcers with a script to recognize each team

    • Purchase and set up snacks for players

    • Monitor game schedules for conflicts among the three middle schools

    • Communicate any changes to the Board for distribution

JV & VARSITY END OF SEASON BANQUET COMMITTEE

Chair: Erin Mullen
Committee Members: Blake Kohler, Nicole Williamson, Julie Makela

Responsibilities:

  • Plan Banquet: Work with the Coaching staff to plan the banquet, set the date, venue, and coordinate the program and gifts.

SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE

NOTE: DUE TO CONFLICT OF INTEREST, NO SENIOR PARENTS CAN BE ON COMMITTEE.

Committee Members: Mike Manczka, Lisa Schneider, Chance Petro (In need of 4-5 volunteers to assist Chair in reviewing applications)

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Scholarships: Promote scholarship opportunities, review applications, and assist in the selection of recipients.

TEAM PARENTS

JV/ VARSITY: Nicole Williamson
 

Responsibilities:

  • Collect and Distribute: Picture orders, fundraising info, and other materials.

  • Meals for Double Headers: Arrange meals for teams during double headers.

  • Communicate Needs: Relay team needs and concerns to the Board.

  • End of Season Celebrations: Plan teams end-of-season party.  The Board will provide a budgeted amount for this event.
